The High Atlas Mountains drive a snow-capped ridge across the middle of Morocco, dividing the Mediterranean-facing north of the country from the arid valleys of the south. They are home to Jebel Toubkal, at 4,167 metres, the highest mountain in North Africa, and a relatively easy accomplishment for amateur mountaineers. For most people, a couple of days in the High Atlas give you the chance to relax in stunning surroundings, enjoy some beautiful, characterful accommodation, and to immerse yourself in traditional Berber village life.
